training you pay for – Certifications you earn

Have Fun, Don’t Die

The first time you hear us say this you might question what you just heard. But then again, this is technical diving and you should be questioning everything you hear from now on. It’s true that technical diving is an extreme sport and like any other sport, we do it because we love it but we should also be minimizing risk all the time. The instructors and divemasters you train with should enjoy it but they also need to get you back to land safely after each dive. Coming back every time is the goal, and that’s how our Big Blue Tech philosophy teaches our students. Have fun, while ensuring your utmost safety. Have fun, don’t die.

Knowledge and its habitual application is our fundamental aim. Great skill and a solid basic understanding of what you’re attempting to achieve are imperative. We believe that this is never more true than when a diver starts a foundation course. Whether its Open Water Diver or Foundations of Technical Diving, these courses put a huge emphasis on learning new skills and principals and extending them into more complex theories. We dedicate our time and our experience to guiding you through this new way of thinking and new way of diving.

Big Blue Tech philosophy Trains Leaders Not Passengers

Every recreational or technical diver should be competent but the Big Blue Tech philosophy is to make everyone capable of every role required for the entire dive being planned. Being confident in each role requires time so we take longer to teach you so that you are ready to take responsibility. You’ll be amazed at how fast and furious the challenges come but also, with the assistance of your instructor, how quickly you’ll adapt to these challenges. By the time we’re through with you, you’ll know not only how to anticipate problems but how to overcome them in a real diving environment.

Dealing with problems is part of all our technical diving courses since dealing with problems effectively and quickly is a large part of technical diving. Individuals make mistakes but teams likely won’t, so if everyone on the team can accomplish each role, it’s very unlikely that the team will make a mistake. In technical diving, the team protects the individual.

the big blue tech philosophy is clear

We train hard but smart. We give our students everything they need to succeed, but we don’t hand out certifications. You earn them and that’s what makes your achievements with us so rewarding. You can become the diver you want to be if you choose the right people to train with and learn from. We hope to see you soon to guide you into the world of technical diving.
