Looking to expand your depth range to visit that wreck? Need to reduce narcosis during deep dives to enjoy that wreck more? Concerns about gas density? Then the TDI Trimix Diver Course could be your next step!
As your motivation to explore increases, you will find that you may want to go deeper to dive that wreck that has so far been beyond your reach. One of the major limiting factors of going deeper is nitrogen narcosis; TDI’s Trimix Diver course shows how to reduce the effects of narcosis by using helium to offset the nitrogen in your breathing gas.
While taking the Trimix Diver course your Big Blue Tech Instructor will teach you how to plan and execute dives utilizing as little as 18% oxygen and diving to a maximum depth of 60 meters with a blend of helium appropriate for the planned depth.
With online learning with this TDI course, you can complete all of the academics prior to arriving here at Big Blue Tech, the course materials are then available to you at any time after the course allowing you to refresh your TDI TRIMIX Diver course at any time.

Itinerary
Your TDI Trimix Diver course starts with meeting your Big Blue Tech Instructor, grabbing a coffee from our beachside restaurant and settling in for the morning, initially we complete paperwork and commence Instructor lead academics which will be conducted every morning. Topics covered include physics review of appropriate gas laws, diving physiology, decompression options including Helium, analysing, labelling tanks and equipment considerations along with dive planing and proceedures. By the final day, all the pertinent points regarding decompression diving using Trimix with a great emphasis on safety will have been discussed..
Following a lunch break we head up to our pool or out on the boat to a shallow bay for our confined practise skills session in either twinset or sidemount configuration. The primary focus of the session will be reviewing ANDP skills and introducing an additional decompression cylinder with deco to deco gas switches.
Then its back to the restaurant for a debrief whilst enjoying a cold drink and watching the sunset.
With coffee in hand and enjoying the gentle sea breeze, your instructor will continue academics and make any equipment adjustments required from the previous day. Then its time to analyse gases, label tanks and after lunch head out for your first 2 dives.
This afternoon will focus on mastering the skills conducted in the pool / shallow confined session the previous day, including emergency ascents, blind ascents and rescue ascents.
Back to land and with a cold drink in hand a debrief of the afternoon’s activities will be conducted.
Today’s morning activities will focus on land drills, buddy checks, team SMB deployment and gas switching procedures, dive planning will also be discussed in greater details and your decompression dives planned.
After lunch it is out on the boat for dives 3 and 4. These will be your first 2 dives using Helium deeper than 30m as a bottom gas where the advantages of the reduced narcosis will be appreciated.
As always back on land sunsets are admired whilst your debrief is conducted.
All online academics should now be completed and will be reviewed and any incorrect answers analysed and discussed. Final land drills will be conducted, gas analysed, tanks labelled, and your final deep decompression dives planned.
This afternoon will be the final 2 deep Trimix dives up to 60m (condition dependant). Putting together all the training and knowledge gleaned from all previous courses.
Back on land after a debrief from your instructor you can reflect on your TDI Trimix Diver Diver course and after successful completion have a celebratory drink while watching the sunset.
